DKV Joventut is ULEB Cup champ!
The ULEB Cup has a new champion, none other than DKV Joventut! With a record-setting defensive masterpiece, Joventut buried Akasvayu Girona 54-79 at Palavela Arena in Turin, Italy, allowing the fewest points ever in an ULEB Cup title game. Joventut's phenomenal defense in the middle quarters proved decisive. Demond Mallet poured in 26 points for Joventut, while Rudy Fernandez ignored a shoulder injury to post 13 points, 7 rebounds and 3 steals off the bench. Fernandez was named MVP, but immediately gave the award to teammate Jerome Moiso, who anchored the defense. PHOTOS
