Ian Boylan - Swans Gmunden Raiffeisen Panthers Furstenfeld improved to 24-8 and sent a message that echoed all around the Austrian League by thrashing Kapfenberg Bulls 90-58 at home on Friday. Shelton Shavies and Anthony Colwell paced the winners each with 17 points while Michael Fraser added 16 for the Panthers. Jason Forrestal had 15 for the Bulls, that trailed 41-36 at halftime. The Panthers boosted their margin to 67-51 after 30 minutes and only allowed 7 points in the fourth quarter. Oberwart Gunners stayed second at 23-9 by edging Xion Dukes Klosterneuburg 94-91 behind 42 points from an unstoppable Jay Youngblood 42, who had 21 in the fourth quarter to win it for the hosts. Calvin Watson had 31 points on 5-for-5 three-pointers for the Dukes while Kevin Martin added 25. Defending champion Allianz Swans Gmunden improved to 22-10 by downing WBC Kraftwerk Wels 82-98 on the road also on Saturday. Ian Boylan led the winners with 28 points, Deteri Mayes added 21, Matthias Mayer had 17 and Thomas Stelzer 13 in an easy road win for Gmunden. In other games, Arkadia Traiskirchen overwhelmed UBC St. Polten 110-78.
