Arkadia Traiskirchen denied the Oberwart Gunners a chance to clinch first place in the Austrian League on Monday with a 104-95 win. Traiskirchen scored 40 fourth-quarter points to come from behind and top the Gunners, who can still finish atop the table if they beat UBC St. Polten in the regular season finale next week. BSC Raiffeisen Furstenfeld defeated WBC Kraftwerk Wels 93-83 to improve to 25-10 – the same record as Oberwart, which remains in front due to a better head-to-head tiebreaker. Miljan Goljovic led Furstenfeld with 22 points and Michael Fraser recorded 12 points and 16 rebounds. The defending champion Allianz Swans Gmunden are one win behind the leaders after beating Polten 89-96 on the road. Deteri Mayes paced the Swans with 34 points, Ian Boylan added 20 points and 5 assists and Kevin Johnson erupted for 19 points, 16 boards and 5 assists. Also Sunday, the Kapfenberg Bulls beat Xion Dukes Klosterneuburg 86-82.
