Austrian League playoffs, Quarterfinals, Game 3: April 22, 2008
WBC Kraftwerk Wels remained alive in the best-of-five quarterfinals of the Austrian playoffs by beating Allianz Swans Gmunden at home 84-75. Wels, who pulled the playoff series to 2-1, had six players score in double figures led by 20 points from Tilo Klette and 19 by Elijah Palmer. Kevin Johnson (16 points and 11 rebounds) and Matthias Mayer (15 and 11) both notched double-doubles for Swans and star Deteri Mayes added 11 points but made just 2 of 12 shots in a losing effort. The other open quarterfinal match-up saw Kapfenberg Bulls grab a 2-1 series lead with a convincing 112-79 victory at home over Arkadia Traiskirchen. Six players poured in double figures for Kapfenberg led by 28 for Kevin Nelson and 16 by Shawn Ray. Traiskirchen, which had lost the last two contests, was led by 16 points from Davor Lamesic, while Spencer Rhynes and Nemanja Bjelica both had 14. Oberwart and Furstenfeld are waiting for the winners in the semifinals.
