Alba Berlin defended its lead atop the German League by grabbing a 73-74 road victory at EnBW Ludwigsburg thanks to a last-second winner by Aleksandar Nadjfeji. Berlin's leader once again was the freshly-crown league MVP Julius Jenkins, who tallied 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists as well as two big three-pointers late in the game. Berlin moved to 25-7 and remained one win ahead of Bayer Giants Leverkusen, which grabbed a comfortable 89-69 home victory over LTi Giessen 46ers behind 20 points from Brendan Winters and a triple-double by Zach Whiting (13 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists). Artland Dragons remained just two wins behind Alba thanks to an 85-72 win at home against BG 74 Gottingen. EJ Rowland's 17 points paced five players in double figures. Reigning champion Brose Baskets improved to 22-10 by beating already-relegated Science City Jena 77-61 in Bamberg. Robert Garrett tallied 25 points while Steffen Hamann added 14. Eisbaren Bremerhaven locked up the eighth and final playoffs spot thanks to a thrilling 81-82 road win at Deutsche Bank Skyliners. In other games, Telekom Baskets Bonn used strong defense to clinch a 75-59 home win over already-relegated TBB Trier with Artur Kolodziejski's 14 points leading four players in double figures and Dru Joyce collect 17 points and 9 assists in a 70-78 victory for ratiopharm Ulm at Walter Tigers Tubingen. Sixth-placed EWE Oldenburg was idle and next travels to digibu Baskets, while 2006 champion Koln 99ers was also idle, but was eliminated from the playoffs ahead of its game at New Yorker Phantoms Braunschweig.
