Defending champion Allianz Swans Gmunden advanced to the Austrian League semifinals on Thursday, while the exciting series between Arkadia Traiskirchen and Kapfenberg Bulls will go to a fifth and deciding game after Traiskirchen won Game 4 on the road. Gmunden beat WBC Kraftwerk Wels 78-84 to win that best-of-five quarterfinals series 3-1. Ian Boylan shined with 26 points, 6 assists and 4 steals, while Deteri Mayes netted 21 for the winners, who will face BSC Raiffeisen Furstenfeld in the semis. Meanwhile Traiskirchen came from behind in the fourth quarter to win 81-89 as Stevan Milosevic dominated with 20 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists. The winner of this series will face regular-season champ Oberwart Gunners.
