Austrian League playoffs, Semifinals, Game 3: May 5, 2008
The Kapfenberg Bulls scored their first win of the Austrian League semifinals Monday by topping the Oberwart Gunners 90-86, while BSC Raiffeisen Furstenfeld regained home-court advantage by besting Allianz Swans Gmunden 87-97. The Bulls trailed 39-41 at halftime, but pulled away in the third quarter to take the lead and held on to win and close the gap in the best-of-five series to 2-1. Corey Hallett and Kevin Nelson scored 18 points each to pace Kapfenberg, while Jasmon Youngblood netted 27 in defeat. Meanwhile Furstenfeld won its second straight against Gmunden 87-97 behind 25 points and 5 assists from Samo Grum. The game was tied 43-43 at halftime, but Furstenfeld took both the third and fourth period 22-27 to take a 2-1 series lead. Anthony Shavies added 20 points and 5 assists and Michael Fraser had 19 points and 9 rebounds for the victors. Deteri Mayes led the Swans with 30 and Kevin Johnson and Ian Boylan added 18 each in defeat.
