Spirou Basket Charleroi wrapped up at least second place in the Belgian League regular season ahead of a meeting to decide first place and home-court advantage throughout the playoffs with Basket Bree. Charleroi bested Dexia Mons-Hainaut 87-70 on the strength of a 30-13 second period to improve to 26-9. Wes Wilkinson paced Spirou with 21 points, Matt Walsh added 13, Len Matela 12 and Jerry Johnson had 11 for the winners. Nate Reinking led Mons with 19. Bree remained one victory ahead of Charleroi after outlasting Optima Gent 84-95. Bree led 24-48 at halftime and played out the second half for protocol only. Ronnie McCollum scored 27 and Dor Fished posted 15 points and 11 rebounds for Bree. Defending champion Telindus BC Oostende will be in third place after blasting Belgacom Liege Basket 81-50. Sam Van Rossom paced the winners with 20, Chuck Davis added 16 and Veselin Petrovic had 13. In other games, Antwerp Diamond Giants dumped Generali Okapi Aalstar 82-61 as Ian Hanavan scored 19 and David Toya 18 and Spotter Leuven rocked VOO Verviers-Pepinster 67-48 as Ron Lewis scored 22.
