CSKA remained undefeated in the Russian League playoffs by finishing a 3-0 sweep of rival Dynamo Moscow on Tuesday, setting up a clash with Khimki, which eliminated Ural Great the night before. CSKA bested Dynamo 62-76 on the strength of a 9-25 third period that broke Dynamo's spirits after the hosts led 40-32 at halftime. Matjaz Smodis paced CSKA with 21 points and 7 rebounds, David Andersen added 16 and 7 and Ramunas Siskauskas contributed 10 points for the winners, who have not lost a domestic contest since falling to Khimki in the Russian Cup final. Eight different players hot from downtown for CSKA, which finished 11 for 16 (68.7%) from beyond the arc. Antonis Fotsis led Dynamo with 15 points, Robertas Javtolas posted 14 points and 10 rebounds and Milos Vujanic added 11. On Monday, Khimki ended Ural Great's season with a 70-77 road win. The visitors used a 14-28 second period to take control and held on for the win. Clay Tucker led the Khimki charge with 17 points and Maciej Lampe added 12. Aleksei Zozulin led Ural Great with 12 in defeat. Ural Great's lone win of the series came at home on Sunday, 87-71. The game was tied at 39-39 at halftime, but the hosts took a small lead in the third quarter and then outscored Khimki 21-10 in the fourth to extend the series. Andrew Wisniewski paced the home team with 21 points and Brent Wright was good for 19 and 12 rebounds. Lampe scored 14, Kelly McCarty and Anton Ponkrashov had 13 each and Mike Wilkinson scored 11 for Khimki. Game 1 of the finals is set for May 22.
