Hanavan leaves Capitals for Antwerp

A week before the start of the ULEB Cup season, the Antwerp Giants have reinforced their frontcourt with the signing of forward Ian Hanavan, who arrives from fellow ULEB Cup side Hanzevast Capitals Groningen. Hanavan (200, 27), who has spent the majority of his professional basketball career in Belgium, did not adjust well to playing with the Capitals and his contract was dissolved by mutual consent. He spent the previous three seasons with Belgian side Basket Groot Leuven. Last year he posted 13.1 points, 6.9 rebounds and 2.3 steals per game in 35 appearances for Leuven.
