Akasvayu finds coach in Martinez

Akasvayu Girona moved fast in the coaches market and found a new boss in Pedro Martinez, who replaces Svetislav Pesic in his new team. Martinez, age 45, arrives from MMT Estudiantes, where he was released in January after a whole year with the team. He has also coached several Spanish elite teams such as Tau Ceramica, Gran Canaria, Tenerife, Ourense, Menorca, Granada, Salamanca, Joventut and Manresa. Martinez led Joventut to win the 1990 Korac Cup title, sweeping the two-way finals against Scavolini Pesaro and lifted the Spanish Supercup trophy with Tau in 2005. Martinez has also coached the Spanish under-23 national team.
