Coach Butautas stays at ASK Riga

ASK Riga has officially announced that Ramunas Butautas will carry on coaching the team next season. Butautas helped the team to win the Latvian League title against all odds, downing Ventspils 4-2 in the best-of-seven title series. Ventspils had won seven consecutive Latvian League titles before losing to Riga in this year's finals. Butautas had also coached Siauliai in his natuve Lithuania before joining Riga in November 2005. He helped Siauliai to reach the Lithuanian League semifinals in 2004 and 2005, the year in which the team also made it to the Baltic League semifinals. He has also coached the Lithuanian under-16, under-20 and under-21 national teams.
