Marc Gasol stays with Akasvayu Girona

Akasvayu Girona will be able to count on its man in the middle for another season after Marc Gasol decided to remain on loan at the team rather than return to his boyhood club, AXA Barcelona. Gasol (215, 22) blossomed last season in Girona, averaging 10.8 points on 62% shooting, 5.5 rebounds and 0.9 blocks in 34 Spanish-League games. Gasol is coming off an exciting season in which he was a member of the Spanish national team that won the World Championships in Japan and then helped Akasvayu win the Fiba EuroCup crown. Gasol is currently training with the national team for the upcoming Eurobasket tournament.
