ULEB Cup Week 1 MVP: Michael Wright, Turk Telekom

A monster perfomance from an elite power forward was required to become the ULEB Cup's Week 1 MVP. Michael Wright of Turk Telekom recorded the best individual perfomance of the week with a 49 performance index rating. Wright led Turk Telekom to a 90-97 road win against Siauliai by scoring 37 points on 15-of-17 two-pointers and 7-of-9 free throws. He added 10 rebounds and 8 fouls drawn for a 49 index, the third-best ever in a ULEB Cup regular season game. Jerry McCullough of Unics Kazan was second in the MVP race with a 37 index. McCullough posted a double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds, missing just 2 shots during his team's overtime home win against Zadar. Radoslav Rancik of CEZ Nymburk and Predrag Samardziski of FMP tied for the third place among the week's best performers, each with a 36 index. Rancik had 28 points on 11-for-15 two-point shooting and 14 rebounds in his team's 87-94 overtime home loss against Red Star. Meanwhile, Samardziski also had a double-double of 28 points and 10 rebounds to help FMP down Ovarense Aerosoles 89-79. Kenyetta Johnson of Benetton Olympic Fribourg and Goran Jagodnik of Hemofarm, each with a 34 index, complete the top individual perfomances of the week.
Individual highs: Gerrod Henderson, 11 assists
Wright not only was the Week 1 MVP, but also its top scorer with 37 points in Turk Telekom's road win in Siauliai. Rancik led all rebounders by pulling down 14 in Nymburk's home loss against Red Star. Henderson of Anwil was the only player to reach double digits in assists by dishing 11 in his team's home loss against Azovmash Mariupol. Henry Domercant of Dynamo Moscow collected as many as 8 steals to help Dynamo down Beghelli Bologna 91-66. Last but not least, Johnson of Fribourg had 5 blocks in his team's double-overtime home win against Antwerp Giants.
