Two unbeaten teams fall, leaving four
|
The number of undefeated teams dropped by two as 26 games of Week 4 brought the vast majority of ULEB Cup teams to within a game of the halfway mark of the regular season on Tuesday. Only four undefeated teams are left after BK Kyiv lost its first game in Group H by 95-87 at Lukoil Academic in Bulgaria, while in Group E, host Benetton Fribourg of Switzerland suprised previously undefeated Triumph Lyubertsy 78-77. Half of the remaining perfect teams are in Group D, where Pamesa swarmed hard-charging Azovmash Mariupol 95-77 at home in Valencia, Spain, while Khimki of Russia needed late-game heroics by Daniel Ewing to stop Anwil Wloclawek 99-102 in overtime on the road. Pamesa visits Khimki in Week 5 to decide which will be exclusive leader of Group D. Besiktas Cola Turka stayed perfect in Group B by running over still-winless visitors Ovarense 100-74 in Istanbul. And in Group A, DKV Joventut outgunned host Bosna 68-85 in Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina. One more game, CSU Asesoft hosting Galatasaray in Group C, will be played on Wednesday. More...
