Week 4 MVP: Jamie Arnold, Hapoel Jerusalem

Even though almost 650 players from 54 teams dressed for ULEB Cup action on Tuesday and Wednesday, the same player who had topped them all the previous week, Jamie Arnold of Hapoel Migdal Jerusalem, has risen above the crowd again. Arnold earned his rare back-to-back weekly MVP honor with a 42 index in Hapoel's 84-83 home win against Zadar. Arnold scored 26 points on 9-for-14 two-pointers, 2-for-3 three-pointers and 2-for-2 free throws. He added 12 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals and 8 fouls drawn for a 42 index, the top individual performance of the week. Christian Dalmau of Besiktas JK Cola Turka helped his team to beat Ovarense Aerosoles with 24 points on 5-for-5 two-pointers, 4-for-8 three-pointers and as many as 14 assists, which tied an ULEB Cup record. Dalmau registered a 37 index rating. Derrick Allen of the Deutsche Bank Skyliners had an index of 36 in his team's home loss against Sluc Nancy. Allen had 28 points on 12-for-18 two-pointers, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Rashid Atkins of Asco Slask Wroclaw (index 35) and Travis Reed of BC Kalev/Cramo (34) complete the top individual performances this week.
Individual highs: Dalmau ties all-time ULEB Cup record!
Dalmau of Besiktas JK Cola Turka wrote his name in the ULEB Cup records book by dishing 14 assists in his team's home win against Ovarense . Dalmau added 24 points for a big double-double. Roko-Leni Ukic had the previous record when he played for Split Croatia Osiguranje. Ukic had 14 assists in a game against Ionikos NF Egnatia Bank on January 20, 2004. Damir Mulaomerovic and Doron Sheffer are right behind in the single-game all-time standings, each with 13 assists. Dalmau ranks third in assists (6 apg.) right behind overall leader Lukoil Academic's Willie Deane (7.7 apg.). Pero Antic of Lukoil was the top scorer this week with 33 points in his team's 95-87 home win against BC Kyiv. Antic is now second in the scorers' table (23.8 ppg.) right behind Michael Wright of Besiktas (24 ppg.). Aaron Pettway of Strasbourg led all rebounder by grabbing 14 in his team's home win against EiffelTowers Den Bosch. Pettway, however, is just 48th overall in rebounds (5.8 rpg.), way behind leader James Thomas of Beghelli Bologna (10.5 rpg.). Toby Bailey of the Koeln 99ers, Ryan Sears of the Antwerp Giants and Preston Shumpert of Besiktas each collected 5 steals, more than anyone in this round. Brandon Gay of Antwerp leads the standings (4.25 spg.), Sears is third (3.5 spg.), Shumpert ties for 19th (2.25 spg.) and Bailey ties for 50th (1.75 spg.). AJ Bramlett of ASK Riga, Ken Johnson of Benetton Fribourg, Viacheslav Kravtsov of BC Kyiv, Pettway and Andre Riddick of Spirou Basket each had 4 blocks this week. Johnson leads the standings (4.75 bpg.), Riddick is second (2.75 bpg.), Pettway fifth (2 bpg.), Kravtsov eighth (1.75 bpg.) and Bramlett 14th (1.5 bpg.).
