Charleroi completes roster with Barac, Lalic, Broyles
Dwayne Broyles Spirou Charleroi became the first team to complete its roster for the upcoming 2008-09 ULEB Cup season by inking Dwayne Broyles, Jure Lalic, Pankracije Barac and Senna Hounhanou. Broyles (196, 26) arrives from ASK Riga, where he averaged 13 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2 assists in 10 ULEB Cup games last season. He helped ASK to reach the Latvian League finals and finish third in the Baltic League. Broyles has also played for Zagreb and Sibenka in Croatia. Both Lalic (212, 22) and Barac (196, 26) arrive from Zadar. Lalic averaged 7.1 points and 3.9 rebounds in 14 ULEB Cup games last season, helping his team to reach the Last 16 rounds. Barac posted averaged 5.4 points and 2 rebounds in 14 ULEB Cup games. Both players helped Zadar to lift two Croatian Cup and two Croatian League titles from 2005 to 2008. Lalic has also played for Amfora Makarska while Barac started his career in Zrinjevac and Zagreb. Meanwhile, Hounhanou (194, 18) inked a three-year deal with Spirou. He arrives from Benetton Fribourg Olympic and also played at Academie Fribourg Olympic. He has helped Fribourg to win consecutive Swiss League titles in each of the two seasons. As such, Charleroi is set to start the 2008-09 season with Jerry Johnson, Jonathan Tabu, Gerrit Major, Justin Hamilton and Houhnanou at guards, Broyles, Barac and Mladen Sekularac, Sacha Massot and Wes Wilkinson at forwards, and Len Matela, Andre Riddick and Lalic at centers.
