Dynamo Moscow lands Darjus Lavrinovic
Darjus Lavrinovic Dynamo Moscow has added another marquee name as it rebuilds its squad with the signing of center Darjus Lavrinovic. Lavrinovic (212, 28) arrives from Unics Kazan, where he averaged 15.3 points, 8.6 rebounds and 2.4 blocks in eight ULEB Cup games last season. He boosted his numbers to 22 points and 12 rebounds in the Last 16 games against the Artland Dragons, but missed the Final Eight due to an injury. In his two seasons with Unics, Lavrinovic reached the ULEB Cup semifinals in 2006 and the Final Eight last season. Lavrinovic, whose twin brother Ksistof was an All-Euroleague second team selection last season, has also played for Alytus Alita and Zalgiris in his native Lithuania. He helped Zalgiris to win back-to-back Lithuanian League titles in 2004 and 2005, as well as lifting the Baltic League trophy in 2005. Lavrinovic is also a regular member of the Lithuanian national team. Lavrinovic joins point guard Hollis Price as the major signings that new head coach David Blatt has made since taking over.
