Turow inks Daniels, extends Kitzinger
Turow Zgorzelec began its preparations for the upcoming season on Wednesday when it announced that forward Chris Daniels signed and guard Iwo Kitzinger extended his contract with the team. Daniels (200, 26) arrives from fellow Polish side Kotwica Kolobrzeg, with whom he was the league leader in rebounds and steals last season. Daniels recorded 14.4 points, 9.4 rebounds and 2.5 steals in 28 games in his second season with the club. Daniels previously played for the Shougang Beijing Ducks in China, AB Contern in Luxembourg and Landstede Zwolle in the Netherlands after a college basketball career at the University of Georgia. Kitzinger (188, 23) was the team’s backup point guard last season, averaging 2.5 points over 10 minutes in 10 ULEB Cup games. Those numbers improved to 5.9 points and 1.3 assists in 18 minutes per game in the Polish League. Kitzinger was also a member of the Polish national team at EuroBasket 2007.
